When trying to describe what my picture-taking style is, it goes beyond taking pretty or cool photographs. Every photo I take is an experience. There is a connectedness I feel when I am able to take a picture that embodies the essence of something.
Whether it is as simple as a curly leaf...
or as smile-inducing as the pure joy and wild nature of a dog...
There is so much of life that can be experienced through a photograph. And to be able to share this with people I love and people I've never even met is something that is so special to me.
How did I get to this point?
During the past couple of years, I have become so passionate about how I feel when I capture a moment or a deeper, unforeseen beauty, that I long for others to have the opportunity to experience the same feelings through my photographs. I had no idea how my pictures would be received and I wasn't ever looking for rave reviews or acknowledgment. I was merely hoping for others to see through my eyes and experience life with me.
I was soon receiving requests for pictures I had taken or for myself to take pictures during special and everyday events. I've been told, "You should be a photographer" or "Have you ever thought of selling your pictures?"
It wasn't until recently that I finally let this all really sink in and decided to make it a reality.
Many, many, many thanks!
I can't begin to thank all of the people who have been so supportive of this decision now and along the way and who have been the ones who have given me the drive to become a photographer, professionally. However, there are a few people I need to give some recognition to:
First and foremost is my Husband, Rob, for giving me the confidence to make this dream a reality and for always supporting me and my quest to capture all of life. His love, knowledge, patience and encouragement are constants and I appreciate and love him so.
Our dog, Nella, who has been my unwavering source of inspiration and who has taught me so much just being herself. Her constant zest for life has made it a challenge when taking pictures, but I enjoy every minute of it.
My entire family for their unconditional love, advice and encouragement.
My friends for their positive words and support.
A big thanks to all of you who have taken the time to check out my pictures!
And last but not least, thank you God for all of the beauty. : )
